In response to regulatory freedoms and the opportunity to enter new product and service markets, a JCS sister company—Jones Intercable, one of the largest North American multiple-system cable television operators at the time—commissioned JCS to develop an advanced, client-server, multi-tiered customer care and order management platform. From the initial application development sessions, the new platform was to be a system designed by the users, for the users. That convergent platform has become Intelligent Customer Support Systems, is now in its seventh version release (ICSS™ 7.x).
